So we watched the last Swiss World Cup game at El Lokal along with a couple hundred other hopeful Swiss fans. Despite Ali’s and my enthusiastic American-style face painting, things did not go well for Schwiiz. They lost to Ukraine in penalty kicks. We were all sad, especially because it meant there would not be another riot in Zurich.
I guess it’s back to rooting for Italy for me.
Everybody I was voting for has been taken out as well… course, that’s part of the game when you root for the underdog….
When will Finland finally qualify for the World Cup? I mean..my God!
Hey, at least Finland won the Eurovision. Maybe Lordi should start playing soccer.

One of the Australian networks has decided to wallow in the misery of their defeat by putting together a dive clip; guys getting hit in the leg and grabbing their head, men brushing past on the left side then collapsing clutching their right. As a radio guy said on the morning after, “At least we have three other codes of football to fall back on.”
