Yeah, my response is always “I live in Europe. Quadruple your total and then you’ll get a sense of what we pay.” Of course I generally only say that in my head.

I tended to assume that surely everyone knew by now that gas is so much more expensive in Europe, what with gas prices such the topic du jour… but I was probably really, really wrong in that assumption.

I found myself thinking that when I first got back ($3+ per gallon?!), then did the math…90 CHF to fill it in Basel, but still only $30 to fill the tank here. Who cares about global warming–God bless America! We will not be denied our cheap gas!
