  1. I know exactly what you mean…

today i wished i had American clothing that wasn’t ironic-American clothing but actual American clothing…

It’s nice to be proud of our government again.

  2. Hi Jul:
I am also just soo happy and in a weird way I feel I need to pack my bags and move back.. need to part take on the change.

This was the 1st election since I became an American citizen and I wish my son was old enough to understand and appreciate this moment….
    big kiss from Zurich

PS; on another total non political note, when we meet next I need to tell you my childhood stories about Mozzarella in Napoli. … funny!]ciao ciao

  3. Hi from the States!! We’re close to being released from our captors. The long dark seige is over.

No blood was lost in yesterday’s battle, we just had to stand on long lines. Our feet are killing us but we are renewed.

Two of our most dangerous diseases have been thwarted – old white man war mongering and chronic beauty paegant queen syndrome are no longer a risk. The vaccine worked!!

Fly the flag. Wear your Tommy Hilfiger crap. It’s all good.

And thank you to the world – who always believed in the American people even when our representatives made us look so bad.

  4. I’ve always been proud to be an American – just ashamed of our leaders :-p I guess it helps living in Egypt.. people here are similar – love their country, but very quick to voice opinions, pro and con(!), about their govt., so they are usually understanding!

    Time for a change!!

  5. Well said!!! I’ve been a US citizen for 8 years, and while I’m greatful for all of the opportunities the US has given me, this is the first time I’m EVER proud to be an American. Thank you world for your support!!

  6. It’s great news to see our country regain a bit of sanity. I might even get a US flag to fly from the balcony on occasion.

  7. I had the same thought yesterday (but don’t live in Europe)- I was so proud of being an American in ’92 while living in Luxembourg – but every trip to Europe since then has been in cognito (well, as much as a sore thumb can…)

    – and now, I don’t have to worry anymore!!!

  8. Hugs from me, too!

I remember that in the first month that I arrived in Hungary, someone came up to me, and said “I don’t like your president, I don’t like your country, why should I like you?”

  9. you’ve expressed my sentiments exactly…after eight years in france, i finally feel that i can admit i’m an american without immediately following up with an excuse for the government.
    vive obama!
