Irish winter

Greetings from Dublin, where I’m hanging out for a little while. I’m a bit disappointed to be missing out on the harsher winter back home in Munich, but at least we’ve seen a bit of snow here in the past couple days (although nothing like what London got). The sun has made itself scarce.

So far I’ve been enjoying exploring the city and getting to know it better, and using it as subject matter as I get to know my new camera. My diet has been based around cheddar cheese, soda bread, and Kilkenny (although I did fit in a healthier meal at Juice, one of Dublin’s few vegetarian restaurants).

When the weather has gotten too wet for exploring, I’ve been more than happy to stay home and overdose on trashy English-language television. Why hasn’t the E! True Hollywood Story made it to Germany yet?

  1. i agree! i miss trashy english language tv too…

real quick blogger to blogger request…. do you think you could send me the code you use in your footer with links for “post a comment, share on facebook…” etc? i would be SO appreciative and thank you on my blog, of course 🙂

  2. Love these photos. I am headed back to Ireland this summer and can’t wait! My favorite thing about Dublin (besides Irish coffee) are all the awesome towns around it – Dun Laoghaire, Howth, Dalkey. I can’t get enough of them.

  3. Emily – Not sure, but I think you’re referring to the footer in the feed? You can put those in with Feedburner.

Diane – It’s probably a good thing I live in a place without regular access to trashy TV, though. I wouldn’t appreciate it so much if I could have it all the time. 🙂

Lulu – I agree… there are so many amazing destinations in Europe, and I really appreciate the opportunity to travel and see so many of them. 🙂

  4. Lori – I’ll have to check out those towns. Thanks for the tips!

Tina – Thanks. 🙂 Ireland is a great place for photos when the sun is out.

  5. You can get E! on Deutsche Kabel, along with the E true Hollywood story. It is great for the old shows, where they only put in subtitles when the narator isn’t talking. However, I watched one the other day where they actually had someone voice over Brad Pitt… Sad.
Enjoy the original while you can.
And it is still snowing in Munich.

  6. Moya – Alas we don’t have cable… although probably just as well that I don’t have E! to distract me on a regular basis. It’s probably best that I enjoy it in small doses. 🙂
