On her frequent business trips to Munich, my wife soon started dissing her Bavarian hosts by ordering matjes whenever they took her to a Bavarian restaurant (which was everytime they went out to eat). They're pickled up north and are served cold, so you can't screw them up.

Did anyone notice I ordered the turkey salad on Friday night instead of anything local?
