I’m writing a what?
I know, I know – I owe you a whole lot of Japan posts and pictures. They’re coming, I promise.
Along with 60,000 people (of varying degrees of sanity) around the globe, I am attempting to write a 50,000-word novel during the month of November as part of National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo for short).
I don’t have a particularly good excuse for this behavior… it just sounded like a fun and challenging task to try out. I didn’t have a clue what I was going to write about until yesterday. I still have no idea how the novel is going to end.
I was so excited to start (no starting before November 1st!) that I woke up extra-early this morning (ok, this was mostly due to my lingering jet lag) to get writing. With an average of 1,667 words to write per day to reach my goal, I will be spending a lot of time at the computer this month. Hopefully not so much that I completely miss out on fall (my second-favorite season), but we’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck.
